In 1970, a number brothers from the Netherlands travelled to Papua New Guinea, where they helped with the development of a technical school in Banz, set up a pastoral care service, and went to care for sick people in remote areas. One brother died on such a sick call.
The first local brothers started tutoring children with learning difficulties, for which we opened a day centre in Banz. However, this community was closed in 2006 and the local brothers were sent out to different location within the Congregation.
In 2014, plans were made to start a new community in Wabag at the request of the local bishop. We lend a hand in local projects of the diocese and focus specifically on the formation and training of new candidates.
