Bukavu – DR Congo, 15 September 2017. Following a week of spiritual exercises or retreat on ‘Our spiritual growth as brothers’ for the brothers of the Kivu region in DR Congo, Superior General, Bro. René Stockman accepted the perpetual profession of eight brothers in the Cathedral of Bukavu on Friday 15 September 2017.
The happy event was attended by a large group of brothers from DR Congo and from neighbouring countries, and by their relatives. The eight brothers, all Congolese, currently work in Goma, Kinshasa, Uvira, and Bukavu in DR Congo and in Bangui in the Central African Republic, and a few of them study in Bujumbura, Burundi and in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
With over one hundred brothers living and working in the region, the Our Lady of Africa region in DR Congo is now the largest region of the Congregation. We warmly welcome Brothers Pascal, Bruno, Rigobert, Pierre, Faustin, Jean, Justin, and Freddy to the Congregation and congratulate them for their permanent commitment.
