Kigali, Rwanda. On Saturday, 2 September 2017, twenty-seven novices professed their first vows in the Congregation of the Brothers of Charity, received by Superior General Bro. René Stockman. He had led a week-long retreat for the novices prior to their profession.
These young people come from DR Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Central African Republic, Tanzania, Malawi, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ethiopia. After the profession, they leave for their home regions to live and experience the charism of charity in their own environment.
Two brothers also professed their perpetual vows: Bro. Prince from Rwanda and Bro. Evans from Zambia. The silver convent jubilee of Bro. Deogratias, regional superior of Rwanda-Burundi, added lustre to the whole event. The new Apostolic nuncio led the celebration of the Eucharist, which was also attended by the bishop of Butare.
