The Superior General and the General Council, the Provincial Superiors and the Regional Superiors, who are in Rome for two weeks for their biannual meeting, spent Wednesday 27 January honouring the ‘Holy Year of Mercy’.
Following a prayer service at the General House Chapel, a lecture was held by a member of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelisation on the biblical grounds of divine mercy, after which Bro. René Stockman, Superior General, talked about how to apply mercy in everyday life. In the afternoon, the entire assembly went to Saint Peter’s Basilica and walked through the Holy Door in procession, and they prayed before the tomb of Saint Peter for the intentions of the whole Congregation. On this occasion, the Congregation was placed under the protection of God’s mercy.
